Assess Competencies of Subordinates - A summary of the activity

Through this activity, a supervisor can assess the competencies possessed by subordinates. Moreover, the supervisor can view the assessment of the subordinates.

Assessors are the people, who assess and rate the applicants for a particular job, in an organization. An internal or external assessor can make the assessment.

Internal Assessor: An assessor who works for the organization.

External Assessor: An assessor who is external to the organization.

Assessed Level: The level specified by the assessor against the competencies possessed by the employee. 

Competency Class: A competency is categorized to different competency classes. For example, the competency ”Presentation Skills” can include the classes writing skills and verbal skills.

Competency element: A competency class comprises several competency elements. For example the class, “verbal skills” can have the competency element “ Language”. 

Selecting an Employee/Subordinate File: You can select the record either by directly entering the complete employee code or using the search criteria option. The system fetches the records that match the combination of search criteria specified from which you could select the required record. If you do not specify search criteria, the system fetches all the employee file records available for the specified supervisor.

Following selection of the required employee/subordinate record, you can assess the competency of the employee by specifying the following details:

•  A value to indicate the assessment rating.

• The date on which the assessment was performed.

• The details of the internal assessor if the competency is internally assesed.

• The details of the external assessor if the competency is externally assessed.

• The certification details such as the name of the certifying authority, the distinctive number of the certificate, the effective dates of the assessment certificate.

Also, you can enter any additional remarks pertaining to the details.

The subordinates information and the competency class elements of subordinates can be assessed. The assessment information of the subordinate or the competency class elements of subordinates can be viewed.
